Walletwait Guess the Price Guide: 5 Modes, Scoring and Leaderboards
You do not have to memorize a shop catalog. Reading what the round asks you to judge matters more than entering a quick number.
How do you play Guess the Price?
Guess the Price is a free browser game by Walletwait. Look at product photos and choose Exact Price, Higher or Lower, Price Showdown, Don’t Go Over, or Basket Total. Each game has five rounds worth up to 100 points each, for a maximum of 500. Reveal the answer before moving to the next round.
Play Guess the Price ↗Five modes, five ways to judge
Exact Price
Enter an estimate for one item. The closer it is to the fixed game price, the higher your score.
Higher or Lower
Read the reference item and its price, then decide whether the next item costs more or less. Correct choices earn 100 points.
Price Showdown
Compare two items side by side and choose the one with the higher game price. Correct choices earn 100 points.
Don’t Go Over
Get as close as possible without exceeding the set price. Any overbid earns zero for that round.
Basket Total
Estimate the combined price of three items. Your score uses the basket total, not three separate answers.
01
Read the question before making a call
Choose Exact Price for a number estimate, or Higher or Lower and Price Showdown for quick comparisons. Basket Total asks about all three items together. Don’t Go Over adds a limit: an estimate above the answer scores nothing.
Every game has five rounds. After each answer, read the revealed game price and whether your estimate was high or low, then continue. The final screen lets you replay that mode or choose another challenge.
02
Scoring uses relative error
Exact Price and Basket Total award 0–100 points based on the relative error from the fixed game value. Estimating 80 for an item set at 89, for example, earns about 72 points in an ordinary estimate round. An exact answer earns 100. Scores are calculated from relative error and rounded, so a very close answer can also earn 100.
Don’t Go Over uses the same closeness rule but awards zero for any estimate above the answer. Comparison rounds give 100 for a correct choice and zero otherwise. Five rounds add up to at most 500; scores have no cash value.
03
Play comfortably on a phone or computer
For number questions, enter an estimate and submit it. For comparisons, select an answer. Phones can use the number keyboard; desktop players can use pointer and keyboard controls. Check whether the question asks for one item or a total.
Music and sound effects can be controlled separately. Check the save status before leaving a page, switching windows or opening instructions. There is no need to tap repeatedly for more points.
04
Refresh, language changes and account saves
Guest practice stays in this browser, separate from signed-in account challenges. The server saves and restores unfinished account games. Guest scores are not imported into account leaderboards. Clearing browser data can remove practice records; changing language does not convert prices.
After an answer, wait for save confirmation before leaving. If another tab or device updates this game, the latest server progress is loaded. Retry connection failures; the same answer will not be counted twice.
05
Take a second look before a real purchase
Photos illustrate product types. Prices are fixed game values in US dollars (USD), not live retail quotes or official prices for the photographed brand or model. All languages use the same values; they are not exchange-rate conversions.
A score does not establish real-world value. If you are considering a similar purchase, return to the spending desk to write down a budget, reasons and alternatives, or ask the plaza for another perspective.
06
Leaderboards: a separate best score for each mode
Finish all five rounds while signed in to record an account score. Each mode has its own rankings; the all-time and weekly boards retain your best completed score in the relevant period. Earlier achievement breaks a tie. Guest practice is not ranked, and guest scores are not imported when you sign in.
A new weekly period starts Monday at 00:00 UTC. There are no cash rewards. For a second scoring example, a Don’t Go Over answer of US$90 for a US$89 game price earns zero even though it is close; ordinary Exact Price instead uses relative error and rounding.
